Foundation Governance and Managing Committee
Foundation of Practising Geographers is a scientific body registered under the West Bengal Societies Act of 1961 with a basic aim to promote scientific research, training and publication in the field of Geography and its allied disciplines like earth sciences, anthropology, sociology, history, economic development etc. Foundation will try to achieve the above purpose through presentation and discussion of the new developments in the field of geographical teaching, research and publication. Foundation will cooperate with similar bodies to achieve its above goal.
To administer the Foundation a detailed constitution was drafted and was passed in an Annual Meeting held on 20th March, 2011. The same constitution was duly approved by the Society of Registrar, Govt. of West Bengal vide their registration No. S/IL/83126 of 2011 - 12. Registration has to be renewed every year by submitting Audited Accounts duly audited and signed by a registered Chartered Accountant.
As per the constitution (By-Laws) of the Foundation of Practising Geographers, the Managing Committee is wholly responsible for the Administration of the Foundation with the following office bearers:

Total 11 posts will form the Managing Committee of the Foundation of Practising Geographers. This number may go up or go down in future as per the need of the Foundation. However, at present there are total 17 posts.

The Managing Committee has to be elected every year. The Foundation of Practising Geographers is a non-profit making organization and the Funds and Income shall be solely utilized towards the achievement of its objectives and goals. No portion of it would be spent for payments to the members by way of profit, interest, bonus or dividend.
The Foundation of Practising Geographers accepts grants, donations and subventions from Central and State Governments, Universities, institutions and individuals. These funds will be utilized for the specific purpose for which they may be earmarked by the donors in furtherance of the aims and objectives of the Foundation.
