Membership

The Governing body of the Foundation may admit any person of any caste, creed or sex as a Member who has attended the age of 18 years/ and will agree in writing to be bound to abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Foundation and be intended in advancement of the objectives of the Foundation. Be it be noted here that the power to admit new member is the sole and absolute power of the Managing Committee and the same will refuse to admit any person without assigning any reason.

Types of Membership

1. Honorary Life Member: An eligible person may apply for and who has passed M.Sc/M.A. in Geography or any of its allied disciplines from a recognized University may apply for Honorary Life Member on a prescribed Application Form with the prescribed life Membership Fee (At present the Fee for this type of category is Rs. 10,000/=). The Fee may be paid by Demand Draft of any bank or the payment may be made by E banking. The detail of the E. banking is given below:

2. Honorary Member: The Managing committee of the Foundation may select any distinguish academic person from the field of Geography and its allied disciplines as Honorary Member. The selected person need not pay any fee.

3. Institutional Membership : Any recognized state or central institution, University can become Institutional Member by paying Rs. 10.000/- as Fee.

Foundation's biannual journal, Practicing Geographer can be subscribed by paying the fixed subscription rate:

1. Individual Subscription Rs. 2.000/- per issue
2. Institutional Subscription Rs. 5.000/- per issue

The Logo of the Foundation of Practicing Geographers is named after Wegener’s “Pangaea” a continental mass submerged beneath shallow epicontinental seas and produce by a drift due to ‘differential gravitational forces’. The Logo was prepared by Dr. Sumit Mukherjee, Member, Managing Committee, Foundation of Practicing Geographers. This Logo is printed on the front page of every Publication.
